Pilates

The exercise form known as “Pilates” was developed by Joseph Pilates in the late 1800’s, and focuses on the connection of the mind with purposeful exercise.

Adding the integral mind-body connection, it requires the individual to pay close attention to the movement performed and the details that make the movement work.

The Pilates sessions run at Active Lifestyle’s Oakleigh training studio, emphasise proper breathing, correct spinal and pelvic alignment concentrating on smooth flowing movements.

Our classes will improve muscle elasticity and joint mobility; balancing your strength and flexibility through your trunk, pelvis and shoulders.
